Seneca Lake
Each year we go to Seneca Lake once or twice for a long weekend. We have been going for Father’s Day weekend the last five or so years and we LOVE IT! So much to do and summer and fall are great times to be on the lake or enjoying the outdoors in this region. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Places to Stay 🏠 :
If you are looking to stay in a cabin on the water we always stay at Seneca Lake Resorts and absolutely love the amenities that they have for adults and kids alike. Boat slips, live music, trails, food truck, kayak launch, beach, amazing playground, outdoor movies! You’ll never run out of things to do! You can even walk over to the Sampson Memorial Naval & Air Force Museum which is full of history about the area. Book fast because places book fast!
🏕️ If you love to tent camp, check out Sampson State Park! Great sites, close to water and incredible trails and playground. You can even rent e-bikes and go for a ride! Highly recommend. 🚲
If you are looking for houses on the lake for just your family or multiple families, we highly recommend using Finger Lakes Premier Properties to search for your perfect house with all the amenities you love and need!

🏨 Our favorite hotels on the lake are the Watkins Glen Harbor Hotel or Belhurst Castle and Winery. These are more for romantic getaways in my opinion. Both are beautiful, have incredible food and are right on the lake.
Things to Do✨:
•We love exploring the area when we are at the Lake. Some of our favorites include Deer Haven Park, LLC to see and learn about the deer in the area. They have bus tours too. 🦌
•Visiting all the wineries, cideries and distilleries along the Seneca Lake Wine Trail is a must do!🍷Our top wineries are Three Brothers Wineries and Estates, Glenora Wine Cellars, Fox Run Vineyards, and Ventosa Vineyards! Live music, great views and awesome food! 🎵
•Visit the Amish at The Windmill Market Geneva to catch all your favorite local goodies, vendors, beautiful furniture and entertainment. Plan to spend a few hours here if you go! 🥮
•Take a short ride to Watkins Glen, New York and hike Watkins Glen State Park, NY. Once to the top you can explore the beautiful waterfalls and nature. 🌳
•Rent a pontoon boat for the day. We have rented from Seneca Lake Resorts and Roy’s Marina in Geneva. If you want a longer day on the boat for a cheaper price and a tube rental for the kids, go for Roy’s. 🚤
•Hike! There are so many trails near this area. Some of our tops are Taughannock Falls State Park, Sampson State Park, and Watkins Glen State Park. 🥾
•We love visiting Finger Lakes Cider House too! You can enjoy cider, live music, beautiful charcuterie boards and the kids can pick organic strawberries. 🍓
•Boaters Beach: dock the boat or drive over. You can enjoy the cool playground and fun splash pad for the kids. Pack lunch and have a picnic or just sit and enjoy the lake. 🩵
Places to Eat 🍴:
Breakfast: we love Water St. Cafe and Tucci's Family Diner. Homemade breakfasts and great service! Favorite coffee shop is Corde Coffee. ☕️
Lunch/Dinner: These are our tops and recommended by the locals in the Geneva area of the lake!
•Uncle Joe’s- (Italian) love the cookies and Big AL. Great pizza!🍕
•Bella’s Sicilian is also good and family friendly Italian. 🍝
•The Elephant Geneva- Thai food and is good if kids like ethnic food.
•Parkers Grille & Tap House -if you love American pub style!
•Our absolute favorite is Kindred Fare! All food
is homemade and delish! This place is a vibe! Highly recommend! 🥗
•Seneca Farms has super casual counter service and awesome friend chicken- a bit of a drive to Penn Yan but is just down the road from Spotted Duck! This place is voted best dessert in NYS! This place is fantastic! 🍨
